The monitoring station is located in a self contained, air conditioned housing within the grounds of a primary school in a residential area of Hilsea. The manifold inlet is approximately 3.5 metres high and is approximately 5 metres from the kerbside of the nearest road, Curtis Mead. The A2047, London Road is approximately 120 metres from the station and has a traffic flow of 13,000 vehicles per day. The surrounding area is residential in nature.
