The monitoring station is within a self-contained, air-conditioned housing located in a corner of school grounds in a residential area of Speke. The nearest road is approximately 10 metres from the inlet, and is a quiet residential road. The A561 is approximately 140 metres from the station. The surrounding are comprises of residential properties and light industry to the north (approximately 200 metres from the station). Liverpool John Lennon Airport is located approximately 900 metres south of the monitoring station.
