2017 Reports on Measures

During 2017 the UK exceeded the target value for one pollutant: benzo[a]pyrene (B[a]P). These exceedances were reported in September 2018 as part of the UK’s annual compliance assessment (see Air Pollution in the UK 2017). There were no reported exceedances of the target value for nickel (Ni) in the year 2017.

The reports below are published to provide more detail of the assessment of these exceedances and to report action and measures that have already been taken or are planned that will help the UK meet the target value. An overview report is provided for each pollutant followed by more detailed information on any exceedances by zone.

Benzo[a]pyrene

Of the 43 zones and agglomerations in the UK, the target value for benzo[a]pyrene was exceeded in three (3) zones or agglomerations:

Nickel

In 2017, none of the 43 zones in the UK were reported to have exceeded the target value for nickel.

Zonal reports

In 2017, none of the 43 zones in the UK were reported to have exceeded the target value for nickel. Therefore, zonal reports on measures were not required to be prepared.
