Fourth Daughter Directive - Reports on Measures

The EU Directive (2004/107/EC) sets target values for a number of metals and for benzo[a]pyrene.

During 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018 the UK exceeded target values for the two pollutants benzo[a]pyrene (B[a]P) and nickel (Ni). During 2017 the UK exceeded the target value for benzo[a]pyrene (B[a]P). The UK was a Member State during the period this report covers, and the Directive requirements apply to the UK as part of its obligations during the Transition Period.

Links to the Reports on Measures that are required by the Directive for 2013 to 2018 are provided in the navigation to the right. The reports provide detail on the assessment of these exceedances and the actions and measures that have already been taken or are planned that will help the UK meet these target values.
