The World Ozone and Ultra Violet Data Centre (WOUDC) operates a scientific archive and database providing a variety of ground-based ozone data sets to the international scientific community. There are over 300 stations represented in the archive with over 35 years of continuous data for some sites.
Data sets include total column ozone, surface ozone, vertical profile data from ozonesonde flights, lidar measurements and the Umkehr technique. These ground based observations are used to generate maps over a wide area such as the Northern Hemisphere - the point observations are plotted and the space between them is interpolated.
