Park Street, Bridgend AQMA (Bridgend County Borough Council) (Bridgend County Borough Council)
01/01/2019, The area comprising the Bridgend County Borough Council Air Quality Management Area Order No. 1, Park Street is that contained within the following boundary:- The designated area borders the green space area prior to the rear entrance of properties located on Sunnyside Road. The designated area incorporates all north facing properties, including their open space areas between 39 Park Street and 105 Park Street. The boundaries’ northern side borders the open space areas that front the south facing properties encapsulating the public access pathway. This area is designated in relation to an observed and likely continued breach of the nitrogen dioxide (NO2) annual mean objective as specified in the Air Quality (Wales) Regulations 2000, as amended by the Air Quality (Wales) Amendment Regulations 2002. Using available 2017 DfT manual count data and adopting the guidance outlined in Local Air Quality Management (LAQM) Technical Guidance 16, Box 7.5, the percentage proportion of various vehicle classifications contributing towards measured annual average NO2 concentrations has been quantified. The analysis confirms that a large percentage proportion of NO2 levels experienced at sensitive receptor locations along Park Street is attributed by cars (predominantly diesel models), as well as Light Goods Vehicles (LGVs).
