High pollution forecast for Thursday 18th September 2014
News published: 18/09/2014
Air pollution is forecast to reach high levels in parts of the South East, East and areas of South West England on Thursday 18th September 2014. This is due to south easterly winds bringing in particulate pollution from the continent in addition to still conditions leading to the build-up of emissions from local sources. It is also possible that Saharan dust may contribute a small proportion to these pollution levels.
Air pollution levels are likely to remain moderate for Southern England and Wales on Friday 19th September, but should return to low levels during Saturday.
